Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of What2Watch (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The service

What2Watch helps you and the people in your household find movies and TV shows to watch. You describe what you feel like watching, or half-remember a title, and the Service returns a shortlist you can rate, save, and track together. Recommendations are generated with the help of automated systems and third-party catalog data, and are provided for your convenience only.

Your account

• Sign-in is passwordless: we email a one-time code to the address you provide. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure.
• You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
• You may create or join a household. Members of a household share a combined recommendation experience; your individual ratings, watchlist, and history remain private to you (see our Privacy Policy).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
• disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service; or
• misuse invitations, join codes, or any sharing feature.

Third-party data and services

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Movie and TV metadata, images, and related information are provided by TMDB and its contributors. If you choose to connect a Trakt account, you authorize the Service to import your Trakt watch history, ratings, and watchlist, and to send titles you mark as watched back to Trakt. You can disconnect Trakt at any time in Settings.

Recommendations are not advice

Recommendations and any AI-generated text may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not to your taste. They are suggestions, not professional advice, and you use them at your own discretion.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we make a material change we update the effective date and ask you to agree again. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
